Prof. Carlos Flores-Mir
Brodie Bite
This presentation describes the different diagnostic, prognostic, and management aspects of the Brodie Bite. Fortunately, Brodie Bite cases are not frequent. The advantages of early diagnosis will be discussed to prevent progression to a more complex clinical scenario. The importance of resolving the Brodie Bite before correcting any other simultaneous malocclusion is emphasized. Emphasis is given to a three-dimensional diagnosis and planning. Various management techniques are presented, ranging from TADS to fixed and functional appliances. Alternative disocclusion methods are also discussed. It is noted that some cases benefit from a combined surgical orthodontic correction. Finally, difficulties and complications are addressed.
